October 2023
Australia has a persistent and serious national housing crisis. A national plan must be appropriately bold to achieve the radical structural reforms needed to coordinate and align all levels of government, departments, agencies and regulators contributing to housing policy and outcomes.
FHA’s submission lays out a comprehensive strategic framework with actionable recommendations to strengthen governance, housing supply, support for homelessness services, and the role of planning in confronting the crisis.
FHA members are critical success partners with an established track record of caring for the whole person and building thriving communities and they stand ready to partner with governments. The Faith Housing sector possesses unique assets, from well-positioned land to chaplains and countless volunteers motivated to offer support that extends well beyond providing a roof.
